Resting great gray owl

I had a hoot painting this great gray owl, though it was tricky! Capturing the feather textures and the eyes’ catchlight on a small scale with watercolor and a water brush was challenging. Fun fact: the great gray has the largest facial disc of any raptor, aiding in its silent hunting. 🦉🎨
