Tree Frog Complete

It took just over 12 hours, but my tree frog is complete. I decided to explore the branch a bit further and incorporated some other textures and colours. I also added a bit of whimsy into the left of the picture. I really enjoyed drawing this one. Of course, I look at it and think I would do things differently if I did it again. But sometimes, you need to stop and share.

Draw in Procreate on the 10.5 iPad Pro with Apple Pencil. Initial drawing done using the HB pencil in Procreate then the remainder done using a series of airbrushes.

Tree frog update

Hi everyone, another couple of updates. I plan to finish this piece in the next week. I haven’t decided on what to do with the branch. Part of what you see in the 2 images is some of the playing/exploration I do.

Also, I am attending my first art class/workshop in 2 weeks. It is a three-day workshop dedicated to graphite drawing. Hoping to hone my skills in doing hyper-realism drawings. This should help my digital work in addition to graphite and colored pencil.

As always, thanks for visiting my page. Feel free to share!

Toad digital drawing complete (w/video)

I spent the last week or so working on this toad. It was drawn on an 2017 iPad Pro 10.5 using the Apple Pencil and the Procreate app. I used mostly airbrushes in the app but did dabble with a couple of others. The reference photo was one I had taken of the frog sitting in a bird bath.

Here is a link to a time lapse of the drawing. The Procreate app does a great job of storing the video of the work. It may be helpful to some to see how the drawing is done.
